ABOUT OUR DNS REDIRECTION SERVICE
Inside Connect Cable uses a trusted partner for DNS services. DNS is what allows your browser to translate a friendly "URL" such as www.insideconnect.net to the IP address of the server it is hosted on. When you mis-type a web address, many times you get a "not found" page, other times you get a page that is not what you are looking for due to "domain parking".

In short, if you are looking for www.insideconnect.net, and you accidentally type www.insideconnect.info, you can possibly get a page that is not us. It ends up being a "pay-per-click" site set up by someone taking advantage of your mis-spelling (instead of telling you that you landed on the wrong page). Many of these sites load up pop-up windows, viruses, and spyware. Others even send you to adult-oriented websites.

Our trusted partner routes all dns queries through a service called UltraDNS. When you go to a site that icomes back nonexistent or blocked, our servers redirect that trafic to a landing page with sponsored and suggested search results.

We have found this to be a valuable security feature for our customers, and have seen a marked decrease in customer complaints of popups and spyware issues.

If you do NOT wish to use this feature, you can use an alternate DNS service. Simply go to www.advantageoptout.com and you will find instructions on how you can set up an "unfiltered" dns service. We cannot set this for you, however and we are not responsible to damage caused to your computer as a result of using unfiltered DNS.
