VoIP Phone service support

Your VoIP service is an incredible replacement to traditional telephone network service. It provides an inexpensive alternative for a fraction of the cost with more features and control.

Because our service routes differently than traditional phone service, there are some unfavorable things you may experience from time to time. We can help you overcome these issues with the following simple steps.

  • No dial tone: Check the lights on your ATA. Put your phone "on hook" and note if your "phone 1" light is on solid. If it is, you may have problem with your wiring in your home. Make sure the phone line between your ATA and the wall jack are securely plugged in. Also check other phones in the house to see if they have dial tone. If all is connected correctly, check your alarm system and see if it has "seized" your phone line. You may need to contact your alarm service provider.
  • Stuttering call quality: Reset power on your cable modem, let it sync back up. Then reset power on the next device connected to the modem until you have reset your ATA. Wait for up to 1 minute and try using your phone again. If calls are still choppy, please call our office at (502) 543-7551.
  • Analog Data Devices (Fax Machines/Credit Card Machines/Postage Meters): VoIP is a great alternative to PSTN networks for voice calls, however there are some issues relating to using data devices on VoIP. Our experience has been that we can make these work about 85% of the time. If you need 100% reliability on your dial-in data devices, you should keep a line from your telephone company. Please call our office at (502) 543-7551 to arrange for a technician to set up your ATA for data use.
  • Alarm systems: Although you may be able to use your alarm or life-alert system over our phone service, we do NOT guarantee nor do we recommend using these services over our phone lines..
